The Salton Sea in Southern California is dying. The lake no longer has a supply of fresh water, and it's slowly shrinking. Tourism, once a major draw to the area, is now nearly nonexistent.
And yet, it can be breathtakingly beautiful — albeit in a desolate kind of way.
Oftentimes, it's our scars that make us desirable. Our flaws. The reminders of lessons learned, battles fought and relationships distant in the rear-view mirror.
Our Salton isn't broken, scarred or dying, but like its namesake, its beauty is found in the absence of prominent features. In the plainness, simplicity and uncomplicated nature of its shape. Even in the raw potential it holds.
MATERIALS
As an open crown hat, the Salton has no creases, pinches or dents. It can be worn as is — round — or you can try your hand at shaping it yourself. Either way, the Australian wool is easy to clean and will hold up for years if it's treated well.

This is a very nice hat but unfortunately it doesn't fit well. It was still too tight even after getting the largest size.

Great hat few minor fixes.
I ordered the Salton open crown to replace an old open crown hat I have had for years. When the hat arrived the brim was a bit out of shape from the shipping, but overall not bad. After a bit of steaming and re-shaping the hat looks great. After making a custom hat band I really enjoy this open crown hat. I have read other review on this site where users are complaining about the brim having some bent areas or mis-shaped. This seems to be normal when you have the shipping company throwing your box around. All you have to do is give the brim a bit of steam and love and you will be back in business. I have been wearing hats for almost 15 years and you need to put a bit of work in to get them to fit the way you want. So far the customer service has been great, this is the third hat I have bought from Two Roads and any time I have had to return or replace I have had zero issues.
