DESCRIPTION
Corktown? Like a town made of cork? What?
No, my friend. The fabled Corktown district, after which this magnificent fedora was named, is a true-blue, bona fide testament of grit, elbow grease and stick-to-itiveness. As the longest-standing neighborhood in Detroit, Corktown has seen booms, busts, bootlegging, bribery — actually, we probably got carried away with the alliteration. We'll leave it at that.
Like the storied locale, the Corktown will endure. Place it on your head and just try to give up. We dare you.
In fact, we do NOT recommend the Corktown if you're trying to quit any of the following activities:
Smoking
Espionage for a foreign government
Huffing paint
Biting your nails
Hanging around lame people like that guy Ryan who is always complaining
Judge Judy marathons
Putting off doing that thing
We definitely think you should quit those things. You should just pick a different hat while trying to do it.
MATERIALS
The Corktown is built to last. Some things, however, that are built to last look really bad. You know, like rocks. Or black mold. This hat is not like rocks or black mold.
Exhibit A: The 100% pure Australian wool. Exhibit B: The fine nylon grosgrain band, with a subtle, badass man-bow (which is NOTHING like a man-bun). We could go on, believe us.
I own over 80 hats that I have purchased over the years and no ball caps. All felt, straw, wool and even some out of paper products. I had purchased a Lapampa Gaucho hat in large in the brown color. I liked the style and stiffness it advertised as just over moderate. I was quite pleased when it arrived.
Then I decided to sign up as I planned to return for more hats in the future, so I created an account.
I decided on the Cork Town Fedora as it featured a cross between the fedora and Gaucho style hats. Also it claimed to be stiffer then the Lapampa hat rating a good distance over moderate on their charts. It was less stiff then the Lapampa, and that was a big disappoint for me. I now had trust issues from selecting more hats in the future from Two Roads. However, I loved the hat and its style, I was hoping it would be more stiffer or at lest as stiff as the brown Lapampa was.
Additionally, on the same recent order I selected another Lapampa in large in black. The black hat came back fitting larger then my previous brown and a good deal more less stiff. The stiffness is what attracted me to re-order.

Reshaping
Despite the information and directions, I am finding reshaping the hat very difficult. The wool felt simply does not behave like a fur felt hat would. Construction seems good and the customer service was excellent.
