The Butler County, named after Hank Williams' birthplace, is a firm western hat made of fine Australian wool. Its shape, punctuated by a tall cattleman's crown and mule kick front indent, hearkens back to honky-tonks and jukeboxes of old. We can't help but think you'll look great in it.

Behind the Name

It's hard to spend any time in the world of country music without hearing the name Hank Williams. The man's influence spans the entire genre.

You'd be surprised to know, however, that his first musical mentor was a blues musician by the name of "Tee-Tot" Payne. The older man took Williams under his wing, teaching him much of the rhythm, personality and stage presence that he'd ultimately become known for on his journey to become the first superstar of country music.

It just goes to show you that there's nobody out there that's just one thing. Even "pioneers" are made up of the sum of everything they've taken in, seen and been inspired by.

And the same goes for you, friend — whether, like Hank Williams, you were born in Butler County, Alabama, somewhere else like Butler County, Ohio, or any other place on the map. Keep moving forward on the path to becoming the best version of you.

Right out of the box, like the rest of my two roads, the hat was packed perfectly, nice and stiff. The hat is bigger than what I expected, not in the size I mean, but the shape. Still, I would say 10/10 one of my new favorites out of the 10+ two roads hats I own.

good shape, bad fit

like the shape, its very snug and the crown of 4 1/2isn't tall enough for my head.

Hey John, thanks for reaching out. Sorry the fit wasn't perfect right out of the box. We do our best, but obviously every head is a little different.

If the hat fits well around your head, but just isn't quite deep enough, you can actually fix that really easily yourself with some steam. If you have a clothing steamer, great, but even a teakettle or pot of boiling water should give you enough steam if you just hold the hat upside down over the steam so that it hits the top of that crease. After a few moments, the felt should start to soften up. At that point, be careful not to burn yourself, but turn the hat back over and put it on your head, then press it down until it fits deeper. Then just wear it for a few minutes while it cools and it should fit quite a bit better.
