The Elliston is made of 100% genuine wool felt, crafted almost entirely by hand to ensure that it sticks around for years to come. It features a wrapped cowhide band.

BEHIND THE NAME

The Elliston rancher hat is similar — you don't need to know details about crown shapes, brim styles or felt blend ratios. You just need to appreciate great style, and this hat has it in spades.

Like its music mecca namesake, it's not just for cowpokes, farriers or bull riders. It's approachably western — not exclusionarily so.

Still waiting on package

I still haven’t received it yet it’s been over a week since it should have been delivered. If I would have known it was coming by USPS I would have paid the additional amount.

I loved it!

Packing issues

Hat was shipped loose in box so brim was out of shape due to lack of stabilization. Was able to steam it back to suit. Fit is great, good value

Very strange, actually — every hat is generally cleaned and steamed, then placed in a box with a cardboard insert that keeps it stabilized and stationary for the entire transit. I'll follow up and make sure they're taking extra care to ensure this is always double checked. Glad you were able to make it work — the next hat you order from us should demonstrate the whole proper experience.

Pretty good open road knock off

Honest review, I do not like the hat band and have already changed it and will order another from you that is more subdued
I’m not a wool felt fan, prefer fur felt, however this hat looks to be well made, lining is nice and sweat band appears to be leather.
I have been thinking about getting an open road and when I saw the ELLISTON on the history nerds channel on YouTube I decided that for $94.50 I could try the open road style and see if I liked it.
So far, I don’t like the open road style, much prefer a snap brim fedora or a full western Stetson , which I own five Stetson fedoras and six Stetson western.
I’m going to wear it for awhile and maybe snap brim down and I may like it better
As far as quality and construction, I think it’s pretty damn good for a $94.50 wool felt hat. Seems like it will hold up and I’m not at all upset over my purchase even though it took 2 full weeks to arrive , which is not the fault of Two Roads Hat Company because they shipped it post haste, however, USPS sent it all over the country for some unknown reason and after 2 weeks of being shipped from Utah to Atlanta to Indianapolis to Nashville and to Columbia sc, it arrived in pristine condition
You guys need to thank that YouTube guy because I doubt that I am the only one that bought this hat due to his review

Update: wore it for first time today and I really didn’t feel like I looked good in it and I be damned if I didn’t get 2 compliments from 2 different guys, both of who came up to me and said how much they liked the hat.
Might have to adjust my thinking a bit and I’m changing to 4 stars

Have to update this one more time: wore it for 2nd time and got 2 more compliments. That’s 4 guys that have complimented my hat in 2 days , all unsolicited. I own a lot of hats, and I’ve never had more than a passing “ I like that hat” comment on any of them and most are fur felt hats. I want to update to five stars but I really don’t much care for the style but, since none of my high dollar felt hats have garnered this much praise I’m going to continue to wear I and I will only update again if a large bosomed female compliments me and it will then become my favorite hat, for damned sure. I just turned 80 couple months ago so it’s not as if I’m new to hat wearing but just tickles me plum pink that I’m getting compliments on the least expensive hat I own.
