The Glenrio is a lighter, well-made palm straw hat handmade from fine toasted Mexican tripilla palm. It features a unique crown shape unlike anything else we sell.

This hat features a moisture-wicking, padded sweatband for comfort.

Behind the Name

Ever feel like you're pulled in more than one direction? Or that you straddle two or more worlds, with pressures to act or think differently in one than the other?

That's a normal feeling, friend — but that doesn't always make it any easier.

The ghost town of Glenrio is situated directly on the border of West Texas and New Mexico. In the early 1900s, it was a thriving place of commerce, with several railroad lines passing through.

Bars on the New Mexico side (Texas being a dry state at the time), and gas stations on the east side (due to Texas' lower oil prices). To sum it up, the town became party on one side of the line, business on the other.

And so it remained, until the railroad pulled out in the 50s and the town slowly died.

Life is multifaceted, man, and we all have our dualities. A great brim like the Glenrio Gentleman's Palm can easily live in both worlds. It's classy, yes — but not too classy to keep you from darting from work to happy hour in no time flat.

I luv my new hat, I'm new to fadoras but this will be my 1st of many.

The Glenrio Gentleman’s hat is likely the best hat I’ve ever been blessed to wear. It is especially well-made; strong, sturdy, and stylish. It makes me feel like a real gentleman when it’s on my head!

My package has not been delivered. USPS sent an email saying they couldn’t deliver it. My mail has not been delivered yet so I don’t know what’s going on.
