The Glenrio is a lighter, well-made palm straw hat handmade from fine toasted Mexican tripilla palm. It features a unique crown shape unlike anything else we sell.

This hat features a moisture-wicking, padded sweatband for comfort.

Behind the Name

Ever feel like you're pulled in more than one direction? Or that you straddle two or more worlds, with pressures to act or think differently in one than the other?

That's a normal feeling, friend — but that doesn't always make it any easier.

The ghost town of Glenrio is situated directly on the border of West Texas and New Mexico. In the early 1900s, it was a thriving place of commerce, with several railroad lines passing through.

Bars on the New Mexico side (Texas being a dry state at the time), and gas stations on the east side (due to Texas' lower oil prices). To sum it up, the town became party on one side of the line, business on the other.

And so it remained, until the railroad pulled out in the 50s and the town slowly died.

Life is multifaceted, man, and we all have our dualities. A great brim like the Glenrio Gentleman's Palm can easily live in both worlds. It's classy, yes — but not too classy to keep you from darting from work to happy hour in no time flat.

Great Hat

This is a nice hat. Size was just right and looks great.

I am a woman who loves hats. I may get to wear this baby before it gets cold. It is now one of my favorite hats. I just bought another one of your creations and I am all giddy about this one also. Thank you for adding to my hat collection.

Didn’t like how high it sits on head. The size is right just doesn’t wear well.

Another brilliant hat

I love the fun, casual shape and style of this hat. My only complaint—if that’s the right word—is that I found it to be neither as stiff nor as “true to size” as suggested (relative to such ratings on other 2RHC hats). I would say this fits big: I think I have their hat sizing down pretty well, but if I were to buy another Glenrio, I’d order a size down. My kids had a good laugh watching it blow off my head repeatedly on a windy day.
And I would say it’s quite flexible—by far the most flexible of the >10 2RHC hats I have. But that makes me love it all the more: it’s now my favorite hat to wear on a plane (much less likely to get squished as I put it on my lap or my knee).
The simple band is a nice look, and the crown is unique and fun. A great travel hat or party hat.
