Surfing and Pipeline are nearly synonymous. Anyone who is even slightly familiar with the sport is aware of the famous North Shore break, the legends who have ridden there and the accolades won.

You’d never be able to call it a “hidden gem.”

No, its “less traveled”-ness comes in the form of its sheer force, intimidation and indomitability. If you don’t meet its demands, Pipeline will rip you apart without a second thought.

Few are the souls who would even paddle out here, and fewer are those who do it regularly.

We’d certainly call that a “road less traveled” mentality, and that resilience deserves recognition.
