I was disappointed to read "Made in the PRC" on the tag, which I assume means China. Little expensive for a Chinese wool hat, about as much as an American Wool Stetson. The ribbon isn't stitched on very tight and the hat is about 2 sizes too big. I wear a 7 3/8 (59) regularly and I ordered a Large. With both pieces of the provided thin foam strips inside, it's closer, but I think they're going for too much range per size. The main thing that drew me to it was the bound edge brim, which is very hard to find. I curved one side of the front of the brim up for a Curly Bill Brocius look, and it accomplishes that quite well.
I love the color.
I was a bit disappointed. The brim was folded inwards and not flat as I have come to expect with wide brims. The crown was fine. I really enjoyed my other purchase though - that was fantastic.
This is a nice hat, kind of stylistically between the Bushwick Rancher and some of their more officially Cowboy hats. I wanted something a little wider-brimmed than the Bushwick, and this fit that description (what I really wanted was a felt version of the Alpine Western Palm, which I still hope they’ll make). A great hat if you want just a touch of cowboy.
