BEHIND THE NAME
Everyone knows about Vail. Whistler. Park City. Mammoth. Aspen.
All sprawling ski resorts with thousands upon thousands of acres of terrain, high-speed gondolas, heated lift chairs, top-tier lodge cuisine, celebrity sightings and vast spreads in every top outdoor and travel magazine imaginable.
Every one of them is phenomenal. Certainly worthy of naming a hat after.
This hat, however, isn't about any one of them.
The Beav is a nod to every small-town, local ski hill that won't make it onto the cover of Outside Magazine. The ones with more character, better snow and richer memories than all the big mountains combined.
T-bar lifts. Mismatched gear. Hand-me-down skis. Greasy lodge fries. 'How you been?'s. Memorized runs.
For us, that's Beaver Mountain in the Bear River Range of northeastern Utah. For you, it's probably another little resort that you kind of hope never takes off. Blows up. Changes.
Ski the Beav.
